Miguel “Mike” Camacho

Miguel “Mike” Camacho, age 88, of Claymont, DE, formerly of Colorado, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Crozer Chester Medical Center, Chester, PA.

Mike joined the United States Marine Corps in 1946 and was in active service for 21.5 years, achieving the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He served in the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star for heroism and a Presidential Unit Citation.  After military service, Mike was employed by SunOlin Chemical Co., where he retired after 20 years.

Mike enjoyed reading, crosswords, casinos and was a lifelong Marine.

Mike was preceded in death by his son, Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; his children, Michael of Newark, DE, Linda of Claymont, DE, Robert and spouse Diana of E. Fallowfield, PA, John of Wilmington, DE; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Service will be private.

Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
