Genevieve “Jean” Capodanno

Genevieve “Jean” Capodanno, age 97, of Wilmington, DE, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday November 5, 2018.

She retired from Shop Rite after 18 years of employment.

Mrs. Capodanno was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Victor A. Capodanno, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte L. Arters; son, Victor A. Capodanno, Jr.; grandchildren, Nicole Morton, Dawn DeFino, and Vincent and Louis Capodanno; and great-grandchildren, Mark and Jeffrey Geiger, and Katelyn and Amber Trader.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Jeff Guarino and his staff, as well as caregivers, Dawn and Michelle.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 am on Wednesday November 14, 2018 at St. Helena’s Church where friends and family may visit from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will follow Mass at Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to St. Helena’s Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809 or the Lymphoma Society.

  2. I know how devoted you were to your mom, we are “birds of a feather” that way, but we learned it from the best! You were the absolute best thing for your mom, she knows how much you loved her and you will miss her, but there are absolutely no regrets. We gave our all, because our mothers took care of us, and they deserved that same care from us. Your mother, I know, was so grateful to be able to live her life as she wanted, and to leave it on her terms. I’m sure she’s having a wonderful time with your dad and all the family that has gone before her.
