Anne E. (Amoroso) Ambagis, age 80, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on November 16, 2018, surrounded by her family.

Anne was born and raised in Wilmington, DE to the late Eugene “John” and Jennie (Mazzetta) Amoroso. Having graduated from Wilmington High School in 1956, she worked as a secretary for the DuPont Company until she had her first child.

Anne dedicated her life to her family. She was a great cook who enjoyed having meals with her family and friends. Anne was an avid bowler, bowling in a league every week in her earlier years.   She liked to go to flea markets and garage sales looking for treasures and antiques.   She enjoyed traveling, especially to her favorite places, the beach, Atlantic City and New York City.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jim “Greekie” Ambagis; her daughter, Ann Marie Savina and her husband Danny; her son, James Ambagis and his wife Lisa; her grandchildren, Josh Savina and Isabella Ambagis. She is also survived by her sister and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death of her brother, Jimmy Amoroso.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018 at St. Helena Catholic Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will offered at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ashland, DE.

In lieu of flowers, Anne would rather you to take your family members out for a meal and spend quality time together.
