Kathryn (Dachille) Tini, born January 15, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; died May 8, 2020 in Wilmington, Delaware, at the age of 91.
Known to family and friends as Cass, she was raised in South Philadelphia by parents, Joseph and Antoinette. She graduated from South Philadelphia High School and began working as a Bookkeeper at the Navy Yard. She met her husband, Len on the beach in Wildwood, NJ. Cass and Len were married and moved to Havertown, a suburb of Philadelphia, where they raised four children. Cass enjoyed traveling, having taken several international cruises. She also spent more than 25 summers with her children and grandchildren at her and Len’s shore house in Marmora, New Jersey. Through the years, she hosted Christmas Eve dinner, where her children and grandchildren gathered and celebrated. She made the traditional Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes, a tradition her family continues to uphold.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Antoinette Dachille, brothers, Joseph and Anthony, and husband, Leonard Tini. She is survived by her children, Janice Adamek, Robert Tini, Leonard Tini, and Kathy (Dale) Yanocha. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Due to limitations on the size of gatherings in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be hosting a traditional funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in honor of Cass to the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association (donations can be made online or over the phone at 215-561-2919).
