Harwood C. McMann, III

April 21, 2026

Harwood C. McMann III, 48, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully in his sleep
at home. He was born on February 27, 1978, in Wilmington to Harwood C. McMann Jr. and
Emily J. McMann (Camp).
Harwood was known for his kindness, humor, and generous spirit. He had a quick wit that
brought laughter to those around him and a warmth that made people feel at ease. He was
deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for the joy and light he
brought into their lives.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Shannan McMann (Alford); his daughters,
Hailey, Kimberly, and Crystal; his mother, Emily; his sister, Jessica McBride (McMann); and
his nephew, Robert. He was a proud grandfather to five granddaughters—Scarlett, Olivia,
Allie, Alex, and Arya—and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of a grandson in the coming
months.
He was preceded in death by his father and best friend, Harwood C. McMann Jr.

  4. Harwood, my heart broke the day I lost you, but you didn’t go alone. A part of me went with you, the day God called you home. A bazillion times I’ve thought of you, a bazillion times I’ve cried. If love could have saved you, you never would have died. Your love will live within me and I will always miss and cry, for you. I loved you so much, yet I could not keep you. We are apart but your sprit lives within me. Until we meet again. Luv ya Mom
