Linda Castelow
Linda Susan Castelow, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at her home, on July 2, 2026.
Linda loved spending time with family, the beach, cruises, road trips, taking grand kids to the zoo, and many random adventures that came her way. Linda enjoyed going to the movies so much she even regularly started seeing “mystery movies” with her husband, Mark. Being an avid Philadelphia sports fan you could also find her at Phillies’ games with her niece Cookie, or other family and friends. After attending Mt Pleasant High School she spent many years as a stay at home mom, then pursued a 30 year career in education as a paraprofessional, focusing her caring heart towards children with special needs. She retired from Delcastle Technical High School in 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Dolores Blackwell, sister, Kathi Parker and close friend Kathy Plumline. She is survived by husband Mark Castelow, siblings; Bridget Mosuly (Jim), Diane Hasselo, Wayne Blackwell (Debbie), Kenny Blackwell (Shannon), children; Phil Zebley (Sue), Gary Castelow (Terra), grandchildren; Danny Zebley (Jenn), Ashley Licht (Brandon), Levi Castelow, great granddaughter Reagan Licht and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Brandywine Valley Funeral Care, 412 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington DE 19809, on Thursday July 16, 2026. Visitation will be from 10:00am-11:00am with services to follow at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics Delaware or the Delaware Veterans Trust Fund.

I met Linda at Delcastle High School when I was a substitute teacher. I remember the smile she always greeted me with. She was one of the kindest person always will to help if I needed help. Rest well in Paradise Linda. To her family I am praying for all of you during this difficult time. Hold tight to the beautiful memories you shared. Blessings and condolences.
Linda was more than a friend. She was the first person to welcome me at Delcastle. The love and kindness she showered on everyone, especially the children will always be remembered. Her legacy is not just in our memories; it’s the way she taught us to show up for each other with gentle hearts and loving hands.

I am very sorry to all the family and friends. She was a wonderful woman when Phil would have us over to his house in high school she was always the nicest. She is going to be greatly missed.
Linda had a unique gift for making you feel at home. Linda and Kathy Plumline were the first people to welcome me when I returned to Delcastle after being gone for 16 years. There was not a single department or activity that Linda was not involved in. She showered kindness and humor on everyone, adults and kids alike—no one was left out when Linda was around. She was truly the spirit of Delcastle. I know what a loss it has been for those who knew her at work; I can’t imagine how difficult this is for her family and close friends. May God hold you all in his hands, and may the memories of her bring you comfort.
Linda was devoted to the students she interacted with and was a positive, caring influence. It was always a pleasure to see her at our semi annual luncheons. She always had a smile and a kind word to share. My condolences to her family.

Linda, I will always remember and appreciate your support, but even more so your smile and laughter… You brought so much peace and joy to so many; may God bless you and your family twelve fold. Comfort to all as we mourn the loss of such a wonderful human being.
My heart is truly broken. I loved Linda (LC), as I affectionately called her. When I started at Delcastle, she took me under her wing and welcomed me back, not as a student, but as a fellow staff member. From that moment on, she made me feel like family.
She, along with Kathy Plumline, Kathy Salvatore, and Geri Swain (my Golden Girls) showed me so much love and support, especially after I had my daughter. I will never forget their genuine kindness during that special time in my life.
LC was truly an angel on earth. Her warmth, compassion, and beautiful spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten.
Sending my deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to her family and friends. I love you, LC. God has called you home, and while Heaven has gained a beautiful angel, our hearts are broken because we will miss you. Rest peacefully until we meet again.
I am deeply saddened by the news of her passing. She was such a warm, joyful, and loving person to everyone she encountered. While I attended Delcastle, Mrs. Castelow was our assistant track coach. She was supportive and always encouraged us to do our best. The rain, cold, nor heat could stop her from being on the track. I often talk about her with teammates and everyone shared the same sentiment. She will be truly missed. My deepest condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones.
She was a gem to every student that crossed her path! The world is a little duller without her ❤️

Linda had a sweet and kind spirit. She was always willing to help out.Icalled her the Jack of all trades. If their was a need at Delcastle you could always count on Ms. Castello. She will be missed but not forgotten. 🙏🥰❤️
